General Instructions:
1. Use a ruler to determine the approximate length and
width of the area to cover in inches (not feet). Multiply length times
width to get square inches for that section. Round up to the nearest whole
number if you have fractions or decimals. We don't have to be too
accurate! This is your total square inches to fill in the box.
2.If you have several areas in the same color, add them all up
first to get total square inches before using the calculator. Otherwise,
the "rounding up" in the calculator will estimate too much yarn.
3. Assumptions: Basketweave uses more yarn than
continental stitch because it covers the back more completely. Also,
the calculator assumes you are using 3 plies for #10 canvas, 2 plies for 12 and
14 and only 1 ply for 18 mesh canvas. For 1/2 cross, use the continental
button - you will probably have a little left over. For other stitches,
use your best guess!
4. Use the calculator for all the major colors in your
design for more accuracy in ordering!
5. Our Knots actually contain slightly more yarn than an 8
yard skein (about 8.3 yards) so you're getting extra value! If you're
ready to order yarn now, just click
