to Leigh
Our warehouse manager is moving to Austin for an exciting new
life. We're happy for her, but sorry to see her leave, as
she's been helping discountneedlework customers for over 2
years. Join us in wishing her a happy start in her new
home. We don't have a replacement yet, so we'll be limping
along without her for a bit, but we hope you'll continue to enjoy

As are many of you, we are regularly assaulted with spam here
at discountneedlework.com. We hope we aren't missing any
of your important messages in the crowd of junk.
Unfortunately, some of our newsletter readers have apparently
forgotten that they signed up. Others were victimized by a
virus that sent emails from their computer to their entire
mailbox address list (including us), thus triggering our
automatic reply emails that may have been annoying. The
end result of all of this is that our own customers reported us
as spammers one too many times, despite our best efforts. Too
many complaints will cause our broadband cable internet provider
to restrict our service. The only solution is to
cease using email except for replies. This is not a
customer-oriented solution, as it eliminates some of our more
popular features, including this newsletter.
We will continue posting the newsletter online.
However, the email versions have stopped, so that we don't get
crosswise with our internet service provider. It's a sorry
state of affairs.
Thanks to all our customers for putting up with our
increasingly difficult web site. We have expanded and
expanded to serve more customers until we've hit capacity
again. We're getting bids to redesign the site this fall
and hope to have an exciting new shopping experience for you
then.

After many years of experimenting with our cross
stitch offering, we have decided to focus our energies on cross
stitch fabrics, needlework frames and lamps, crewel and
embroider kits, needlepoint kits and supplies of all kinds, and
lots of silk ribbon kits and supplies. There are too many
other places to buy cross stitch kits, prefinished items, and
charts. And we'd like to free up the time and space
dedicated to some of our cross stitch items so we can put more
effort and energy into our project series, free reports (see
right column), and other items of interest to our
customers.
As a result, we are clearancing lots and lots of cross
stitch. Look for Red Hat Society kits, Kinkade kits, and
prefinished items like hats, sippers, and such. We'll
still carry notions, stockings and fabrics at our usual
discount, but we've taken the less popular colors of fabric and
cut them into smaller, easier to use pieces and really
discounted the heck out of them too.

Christmas is coming soon, but there's still time to finish
some needlepoint
stockings (or even cross stitch if you try one of the
ready-made stockings that Charles Craft has reissued!)
We're clearancing some needlepoint stocking right now, so
jump in quick and get one while they last.
Cross stitchers, order your stockings now. They'll be
back in stock in mid-September, with plenty of time to stitch
